Planning Approved April 2015

The proposal to redevelop a former rural pursuit and gun centre to form a new animal rescue and visitor centre, comprising café, shop, kennels, stables, outdoor equestrian arena, a  building for storage and ancillary uses such as food preparation, treatment and administration. The main existing building including a former gun shop, link area and 2 storey building will be converted and reused within the proposal. A number of additional buildings for kennels, stables and visitor learning space are also proposed.

The key function of the proposal is to provide a centre where horses and dogs in need of rescuing can  recover and thrive with the ultimate aim that the majority will be re-homed.

It is intended that members of the public can visit the centre, meet the recovering animals and other rare breeds, learn about the dogs and horses and use the additional facilities including cafe, shop, play area and learning space and enjoy the landscape. The scheme received Planning Approval in Spring 2015.
